A Year in a Motorhome - Scarborough - Bridlington - Hornsea - Hunmanby - Yorkshire Week 21

TUESDAY 18 JANUARY 2015 Week 21

This blog is going to be short and sweet because we’ve had a quiet week. We went for a wander around Scarborough. It was actually lovely, and I enjoyed looking around again after such a long time staying here—well , Cayton Bay Holiday Park, which was closed.

We also wandered around Bridlington and Hornsea, again, both lovely places to visit but quiet. I can’t wait for the seaside resorts to reopen for the summer season.

Above: Nice views of Scarborough. I decided to have my future told by Zoltar. After watching BIG with Tom Hanks, I was intrigued! What a load of rubbish. Told me I'd find the love of my life very soon!!! Hmm.

Sheep and farmer statues on a round-a-bout... only in Yorkshire!!!

We met up with Lions Peter and Janet who are members of our Helen Keller Internet Lions club. As we live all over the UK we are trying to meet up with Lion members we haven’t met before. We went out for a lovely meal with them both on Saturday night.

We went to Hunmanby, a village I feature in my books because I holidayed there with my grandparents a few times when I was little. It was great to be back, and I wished I could have knocked on the cottage door and asked to look around, but it could be all ultra-modern inside, and I’d wind up all disappointed because it’s still not furnished like we were living in World War II. We had a yummy lunch in the village pub I used to drag my Nana and Granddad in as a kid.

Now we are in Skeggy Ness, and tomorrow we are heading up towards the west coast of Scotland. The whole of the East Coast is complete, and we can look forward to spring and summer months, oh and Ireland!  And here is George Turkey and His lovely wife, who loved to roam free on the farm we camped on near Hornsea. He was so friendly that he followed me around, particularly to the toilet and shower block!! I'm not going to miss the five am wake-up call from the cockerel, either. TTFN xxx
